BDSwiss’ Spirit of Volunteerism Shines With Cleaning of “Aktaia” Beach
The employees of BDSwiss Limassol rolled up their sleeves and declared their love and respect for the environment by cleaning Aktaia beach, also known as Carnagio, on the 14th of May in Limassol. The volunteering event was in collaboration with the coordination group for voluntary cleaning actions in Cyprus “Save your Hood”. More than 30 volunteers of various ages managed to collect and dispatch 100+ garbage bags of litter in an hour and a half.
This event was part of BDSwiss’ Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) agenda that sees year-round actions related to environmental, health and social issues. BDSwiss is actively pursuing to make the world we live in a better place and whether it’s blood donation events, or relief packages for war victims, the company remains active on that front.
During the action, BDSwiss CEO Nikolas Shamtanis stated: “The environment is one of the main pillars around which BDSwiss develops corporate social responsibility actions, and beach cleaning could not be absent from this year’s agenda of our activities. Environmental pollution is a great scourge for our planet, for the healing of which a collective effort but also a personal commitment from each of us individually is required!”
Concluding, Mr. Shamtanis noted: “It is remarkable that a country connected to the sea has such a large problem of waste on its coasts, which is evidenced by our current action and the volume we have collected.”
After the first successful environmental campaign for 2022, BDSwiss is committed to continuing to organise similar events, as well as to conduct a series of targeted charitable activities and community events.
