BDSwiss Supports Albania Earthquake Relief Efforts

Reaffirming its social responsibility duty to support vulnerable groups, on December 2019, BDSwiss made a donation directly to “Solidary Albania Emergency”, supported by the Albanian Finance Ministry, which aims to provide shelter, comfort and financial support to the families affected by the devastating earthquake in Northwestern Albania back in November 2019.

The deadly earthquake claimed more than 50 lives, damaging critical infrastructure with more than 2,000 buildings seriously damaged and leaving more than 12,000 people homeless. At 6.4-magnitude, it was the worst earthquake the country has experienced in decades, and it was felt all across the Balkans. BDSwiss employees have made an independent donation back in November 2019 when the earthquake struck but sadly Albania has yet to fully recover from the tragedy.

BDSwiss representative officers from our local office in Tirana also offered volunteering assistance to the community as the current drop in temperature throughout Albania because of the harsh winter continues to threaten the homeless population and other vulnerable groups affected by the earthquake.
