BDSwiss Supports Beirut Relief Efforts with Charitable Donation to the Lebanese Red Cross
Joining the efforts of the international community to provide urgent aid to Lebanon following the Beirut explosions and as part of its long-standing CSR commitment, BDSwiss has recently made a charitable donation to the Lebanese Red Cross.
The world watched in shock and despair as two massive blasts devastated the city of Beirut on August 4th, 2020. The blasts that shook the country’s capital levelled several city blocks and claimed over 130 lives. According to the governor of Beirut, Maruan Abboud, more than 4,000 people were injured and over 200,000 were left displaced and homeless. In a country that is already challenged by serious political divisions and currently dealing with a collapsing economy due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the explosion comes at a truly critical time.
Standing in solidarity with the people of Beirut during these testing times, BDSwiss’ latest donation to the Lebanese Red Cross aims to support the relief efforts and help provide life-saving medical services to the wounded. As hospitals in Beirut have reportedly reached full capacity, the work of the Lebanese Red Cross becomes more crucial than ever before.
BDSwiss remains committed to further contribute to local and international humanitarian and relief efforts, through its CSR initiatives and help drive forward positive change.
